This year Inoma has managed to consolidate a job along with mazahua communities from the State of Mexico. They worked in the San José del Rincón and San Felipe del Progeso entities. This last one is one of the most representative mazahuan communities from the country.
Teachers were trained and students were introduced to educational video games from the TAK-TAK-TAK system. Also, technological visits were made to 13 public schools of the same region.
Mazahuans are one of the oldest ethnicities of Mexico, the term “mazahua” is a Nahuatl ethnonym which means “people from de deer”. 11 municipalities, 10 of which are found in the northeast of the state of Mexico and the state of Michoacan, compose their community. Mazahuan traditions have been managed to be preserved through music, dance, handicrafts and their rituals which have been passed on from generation to generation.
