Inoma along with Fundacion MetLife developed the video game Pueblo Chinampa. The goal of this game is to understand and learn how to apply the importance of planning and manage resources for the present and future, teaching children about savings. Also they will learn about addition and subtraction and mental calculation practice. The goal is for the player to learn to solve problems by him or herself.
The launch of Pueblo Chinampa took place in september in the Manuel C. Tello school during the national holidays of that month. Iker Sánchez, a Pueblo Chinampa player recommends the game because it’s an adventure. Arturo Mendoza, a player’s father, recommends the TAK-TAK-TAK platform because he has seen his daughter learn about money management.
Teachers and parents welcomed Pueblo Chinampa with enthusiasm due to the practice of mental calculation, addition and subtraction, it promotes observation, attention and eye hand coordination. Also the game reinforces financial concepts such as price, budget, spending, interest, savings, lack, need, want and opportunity cost.
